  THE TERRACE SECRETS

   CHAPTER II: Converging the hints.

Notes from the Author: The following stanzas are the continuation of the first chapter: 'Is that true' of this short series, The Terrace Secrets. So, Better read the Chapter I before exploring this chapter.

   After being informed with the basic details regarding the case from Ronnie Uncle, Joel returned home. His Mom has made him his favorite spicy pakoras. He doesn't want himself to get indulged much within those issues. Neglecting everything, he devoured four plates of pakoras. Like that, the rest of that day is spent.
Being distressed on this issue, he totally has forgotten to converse with his girlfriend. Thus, a little conflict rose between them. To get rid of all his headaches, Jo decided to move to his bed along with the novel, Darren Shan's Lord Loss under the series, demonata.

With both of his hands enclosing each other in such a way, He made the widely opened book to be his comfy pillows, and start sleeping nicely.

Soon, the next-day's Sun shines up on the East. The door bell rang twice. Joel unlatched the door, and collected the fresh milk bottles and newspapers. Requesting his Mom for coffee, Joel stretched the pages of the day's edition over the reading table. Unluckily, he found something to be noted in particular, on the top of the second page. The headline of the article said: "Teja's family approved her death as suicide: the case closed." Captured by this, Jo read the entire article. Now, he has been with further more confusions. With respect to Ronnie Uncle's statement: Teja was poisoned, (not in case, necessarily to be a suicide attempt) and Why should she decide to breathe her last on that cursed terrace? The questions queued up on his mind. He thought himself to be the solutions for all his questions. Yes! He began composing himself for the adventure.

Ingesting two slices of bread sticks and a boiled egg, Jo approached the management office, secretly holding the newspaper, on his trousers (so that, his Mom couldn't ask him where he was going with the newspaper.) Ronnie Uncle welcomed him disappointingly. Ro Uncle doesn't want to interfere with this case, at all. He conveyed straightforward to Jo, that he has no more idea regarding this case. Further, he doesn't want Jo to disturb him on this, anymore. But Jo wouldn't let it like that. With his eyes swirling around, another idea blossomed on his mind: he headed towards the neighboring block, pressed the calling bell twice. A charming young girl unlocked the door: Sarah, one among the Joel's hopeful friend. Being in the apartments since her childhood, She knows people there, better. And She would be definitely helping him in solving out his riddles.

Jo and Sarah felt they need some private space to discuss further on this issue, and went to the garden. Asking her on his doubts regarding the same article. Sarah informed that she was a good friend of Teja, and added that Teja was really a nice girl whom she preferred to talk with, whenever she felt depressed. Sarah underlined that Teja was not that type of girl, who would end her life like this. Then, Jo acquired some satisfaction that he has got some clues.

Joel planned to disguise himself as the cop in mufti. All he needed was a fake identity card. Joel being fit and tall, the role of the cop suited him very well: a white half-sleeved formal shirt that fits his upper body, and wore a khaki pant. Sarah didn't accompany him, as Teja's family knows her well. He moved to Teja's home and introduced himself as planned. Teja's family believed whatever happening there. With this as the best choice, He investigated all things, he wanted to know. Initially, they felt hesitated to share anything. Their tone of conversation, clearly depicted that they have been stopped in openly conversing the truths. He guaranteed them that he would be a friendly person, and never handle this case in a casual manner. By converting their minds emotionally, Joel succeeded in getting all the facts. Teja's parents stated as follows:

 "Teja.. Our only daughter. She always used to keep her surroundings happy. She never thought to hurt even a beetle. A lovely being spent all her life in caring for others! She had no problems including love affairs. If so, She would certainly let her mother to know first. But nothing happened like that. On the day before her death, She was totally abnormal. Something kept on muddling her mind. And On 12th Nov, her mom didn't even provide her the supper, then where did that poison come from?.. We are blank!" Teja's father wiped out the overcrowding tears from his eyes.
He added to his statement that he is delivering his words only with the hope on Jo, (cop, according to Teja's father) that he wouldn't leak that anywhere on media.

So two things made lucid: Teja wasn't in the mood of suicide, and also the toxin she had at her time of death, wasn't taken, while she was on home. Thus, her unnatural death must not come under suicide then.

While leaving the block, his eyes moved to a new notice which said: the gates of the terrace will be open for the next two days, for the monthly maintenance purposes.
So, that notice indirectly paves the way for next incident! Who's Next?

What would be the cases regarding Dheeraj and Shaah? Teja's death, itself puzzled with this much mysteries! Why all these three people should die on that terrace?
